Hobbystreak day 5 - 'Done' - First finished Knights Panther, v. Pleased with it and rediscovered techniques. Unsure if I push on with more or switch over to my KotWW (😲) - Next Tournament 18 Jan - 1 month to go, need to make a list with new rules and make sure I've got the models painted for it...

Hobbystreak day 4 - 99% - just the basing to finish on this guy (unless I find something I missed or it gets pointed out in the comments!). Played around with the camera a bit, will take better pictures of the fully finished model soon. Happy with outcome, glad I put time in on this chap.

Lovely looking gold

Really like this gold colour, which paints are you using for it? I've had some success on a similarish look with GW Balthazar gold washed with Agrax earthshade, then highlighted with two thin coats overlord brass/dragon's gold 50/50 and dragons gold highlights

Hobbystreak day 2 - back at it - spent some time on highlighting horse and the blue today - definitely need some tidy ups via adding some more midtone to the blue areas where I went a bit too chunky, and to apply some silver bits along the edge of the barding also. Almost finished the 'test' knight!

Hobbystreak day 1 - back on the wagon - had a couple of days off painting/gaming, was still writing lists, talking about the hobby and setting up my laser engraver for making MDF bases and movement trays. Had a game last night, Empire Vs Chaos with a win for my cav focused list! More painting soon!

Just looking forward to knowing either way if there will be any mounted heroes I don't already own (all of the old ones except the marauder captain on Pegasus) - then I can get on with converting some Demigryph and Pegasus heroes

Hobbystreak day 35 - almost - almost there on one model, did straps, cloth, hooves, teeth, parchment, face and eyes plus deep shade on blue and horse, home stretch soon!

Hobbystreak day 34 - 4-0 - no painting today as life got in the way, but I did complete the last of my games in the SBOT2 UK regionals and won all my games (14-6, 18-2, 20-0, 19-1) 💪. So here's a shout-out to the MVP of the 7 games total I played in SBOT2, and a PSA - leave a 2" gap to the edge! 🤣

Hobbystreak day 33 - bits n bobs - put a bit more time into the knights, got remaining horses basecoated and did skin base and shade - I'm down to straps, cloth, feathers and hooves (I think) and everything will be the right colour, just onto making it look good then. Fair few hrs into these so far

Hobbystreak day 32 - short session - tired after a long week and fancied a bit of a break from concentrating so just slapped a bit of guilliman flesh and snakebite leather contrast onto skin and, hair and clothes to bring some of my artillery crew and engineers a step closer to tabletop ready

Next thing to tackle is where to put the highlights on the armour but looks like some chunky and then skinny edge highlights will do the trick!

I think it will take a lot less on the other cloaks as I've had a bit of practice and I know what I'm doing. Laying the base coats and first highlights only took 10mins on the other 5 after figuring it out

Thanks! Not really, once I'd picked the colours for highlighting and shading the cloak, as well as the blending on the back, took maybe 30 minutes? I'm not sure I've ever done something like this before so looked at some reference pics and a video on painting a leopard skin (Angel Giraldez on YT)
