Maykol deserves to be at home with his family, not shackled in a distant state while his classmates graduate. This cruel & predatory behavior — calling ICE on a teen because a police officer makes assumptions about their status — has no place in MI, or anywhere else in the country.

Troops need to be off the streets of LA. It's authoritarianism, plain and simple. But so does ICE. It's both. ICE out of our communities, troops off our streets. This didn't 'start' when Trump deployed troops. It started when ICE started terrorizing undocumented and documented people alike.

Abel Maldonado (former GOP CA Lt. Governor) is on CNN claiming that 'no one' in California wants the National Guard to leave. If you're that out-of-touch Abel with your fellow Californians, maybe that's why your party hasn't managed to win a CA statewide election since 2011.

As a longtime SEIU worker, a Representative, and an American, I am glad to hear that SEIU CA President David Huerta has finally been released from federal custody after a long 3+ days. But President Huerta never should have been arrested at all: he did nothing wrong.
