Call my cynical but I'm not entirely sure that the FIFA Peace Price (introduced in November 2025 "to reward individuals who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and by doing so have united people across the world") can retain its credibility after Donald Trump's attack on Iran.

Just finished watching The Traitors Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช , hosted by the ever awesome Siobhรกn McSweeney. Loved it! Intense, gripping, raw, emotional. I think it might be my favourite ever season of Traitors. If you like The Traitors, and you can get it, watch it. If youโ€™re in the UK, itโ€™s on iPlayer.

Number two in my series where I unbox my books and start filling the shelves of my library. This box is SFF, K to M. As before, I pick out the heroes, villains, and jokers. #books #SFF

Had that slightly awkward conversation with my thirteen year old daughter where the subject of drugs comes up, and I had to confess that the closest I ever came to taking drugs was when I had an incredibly strong expresso coffee out of a vending machine in the Italian Stock Exchange in Milan.

The 2026 Eastercon | Iridescence

Have finally got my backside in gear to sign up for the 2026 Eastercon, Iridescence (@easterconuk.bsky.social), arriving Friday, leaving Monday. It's in Birmingham (UK). Who else is going? Would anyone be up for a Bluesky / Mastodon / Threads meetup? eastercon2026.org

Growing up in Michigan, Chase Johnson dreamed of hockey glory. But when his NHL dreams turned to dust, he found himself in the leafy Manchester suburb of Altrincham playing for the British EIHLโ€™s Manchester Storm. Thereโ€™s not much glory, and certainly no riches, but it is hockey.
Jess Lane went to London with a degree in marketing and big dreams only to get her spirit shattered and her heart broken. Nowโ€™s she back working in her mumโ€™s Altrincham coffee shop, trying to figure out what the hell to do with her life.
Chase went looking for a coffee and found a girl who wasnโ€™t looking for love, didnโ€™t particularly care for Americans, and was utterly indifferent about ice hockey, and anyone who might claim to play it.
Can love span a trans-Atlantic divide and heal a broken heart?

One of the problems with having a writer's brain is that you're constantly thinking of ideas for books, often in genres that you're utterly unsuited to write, even if you had the time! This is my latest pointless idea, one which has sufficiently bugged me that I decided to write the blurb. ๐Ÿ˜€

So who else is eagerly looking forward to the trial of the century (in the UK at least)?

Also, you know how a pivotal moment in UK TV history was the 1953 Coronation being televised? I wonder what the chances are of this case being the first televised UK court case? ๐Ÿฟ

Title: Love your work

Body: Hi
I recently came across your work, and I was really struck by the honesty in your storytelling and the way you blend personal experience with universal truth. As a fellow author, I deeply appreciate writing that challenges and moves readers the way yours does.
I just wanted to reach out to say how much I admired your work. It's inspiring to see writing thatโ€™s both fearless and artful.
Warm regards

Got this today. Iโ€™m assuming itโ€™s the hook to a scam. Given that I write about vampires, flying pigs, magic, elves and so on, Iโ€™m curious what โ€œpersonal experiencesโ€ they believe Iโ€™m putting into my work.

The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away, as they say. Or in my case, Evri leaveth on my doorstep when I'm out, and some thieving scroat taketh away.

Thanks Evri. Could you not at least have left it behind my bins where it wouldn't have been visible from the road?

Dear Apple. If I take a picture with my phone held sideways, it's because I want to take a landscape picture, not because I want a portrait picture turned on its side.

I don't actually understand why you're needing people to tell you this, but hope it helps.

I generally find Irish accents very clear and easy to understand but I was a bit confused watching Traitors Ireland when someone (I think it was Andrew) said, โ€œWeโ€™re here to catch lawyersโ€โ€ฆ

โ€ฆuntil I realised it was actually, โ€œWeโ€™re here to catch liarsโ€.
