I feel my slipping back into a whole I just dug myself out of. Let me tighten up.

7. Be open to grow. Everyday is different with new challenges and lessons.

4. Have a community. This job gets stressful. Build a community with people who build you and you help build.

5. Admin will come and go. At the end of the day, you have to stand firm in who you are as a teacher.

6. Prepare for any and everything. School is busy. Be ready to change at any time.

1. Take mental health / self-care days. If you’re stressed and not your best, you can’t give your best to to your students.

2. Eat food and drink water. You can’t work without proper nutrition and hydration.

3. Set boundaries. This applies to admin, students, parents and coworkers.

Today I completed my first full year as a teacher. I’ve learned a lot along the way but there’s a few I wanted to share.

God’s no is always protection.

When you’re a teacher and have SIX MORE DAYS until the end of the school year. Pray for us. We’re tired and the kids are tired.

I’m going to start taking myself on solo dates when I get back comfortable driving. I need to pour into myself more.

I turn 30 next month. The 30 year olds I looked up to held it together really well because this is ghetto. 😅
