It does have a JP Blu-ray! It was a Funimation Gonzo title (most of those went to CR) BUT it was a join production with AIC, which DT has been working with lately. Maybe the terms of the license was somewhat less generous? I’ve been watching this recently and it’s funny as hell.

I would start with the commercially released games first: Metal Gear Solid, Gran Tourismo 2, Tekken 3. They essentially had professional QA. Metal Gear Solid in particular recreates a lot of the peculiarities of the game.
There’s lots of videos out there documenting these, tho I haven’t played ‘em.

Kinda crazy how much drama there is centered around its SD loader. I’m a philistine and played hella burned games on mine. Sadly the “beta” Bleem games out there never played as well as I would have liked.

The live action stuff has very little fan interest, so it might be worth the effort to re-encode the US subs with the the JP master. I’ll think about this one.
