Day 8: Encino to Thousand Oaks (26.5 mi)
The Simi Hills were no joke, and nearly 2500 feet of climbing gave me an excuse for less miles on the day.
I loved being on trail, but the last 5-7 miles were a bit of a slog. I had to be careful descending with my knee not at 100%. 8 down, 32 to go!
My legs are sore, Iβm dealing with knee pain, but overall Iβm still in high spirits.
Tomorrow, I leave LA for good and see long-awaited dirt. 7 down, 33 to go!
Days 5-7: Lake Elsinore to Encino
The LA section has been hectic, to say the least. Iβve been humbled by so many people coming out to run, or just support what we are doing β€οΈ
Day 4: Rainbow to Lake Elsinore (29.6 mi)
Today had its difficulties. I spent most of the afternoon slogging through the straight, unforgiving roads of Riverside County. After a brief nap, I got my act together and finished the day strong.
Overall, itβs good to face adversity early. 36 to go!
Day 3: Oceanside to Rainbow (28.5 mi)
Today I began my inland adventure, and itβll be at least a week until I see the waves again. Heat and hills were the themes of the day, but my body has held up well.
Itβs raining outside as Iβm typing, so Iβm curious to see what tomorrow bringsβ¦ 37 to go!
Day 2: La Jolla to Oceanside (30 mi)
Sunny beaches and lovely company? Today was low on the discomfort scale.
I am trying to soak up days like this, because the honeymoon phase wonβt last forever and the pain will begin to set in!
For now, itβs all smiles and smelling the flowers. 38 to go! βοΈπ
Day 1: π²π½ πΊπΈ Border to La Jolla (31 mi)
Today was all about figuring things out. I found out I dislike intersections that take five minutes, but I do like running on the San Diego shoreline.
Still a lot more flat terrain in the sun to acclimate before things get spicy
Our first night of camping may have yielded our best spot of the whole trip
We are on our way down to the Mexico border, where my run begins on Tuesday!

I am new to Bluesky, and have hardly any following here.
If my journey resonates with you, please follow and share my posts.
I'm not in this for the followers and likes, but the reality is the more attention my accounts get, the more money will be generated for those who need it. β¬οΈ
