I would add a fourth category to @perrybaconjr.bsky.social reasons institutions are compromising so fast —many people and institutions value elite status as much or more than abstract principles. And so compromising to hang on to elite status and income is a no-brainer.

With much of U.S. foreign policy needing a refresh, the left is not exempt. It's time to see progressivism in foreign policy as a set of guideposts but not a movement. Thanks @proflind.bsky.social for inviting me to guest-post.
