In downtown DC and run into Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank. Lagarde, who is not only the first woman to lead the ECB but was also the first female head of the International Monetary Fund, after France made her the first female finance minister of a G7 country.

β€œβ€¦.with a big assist from Senator Louise Lucas” β€” we really appreciated her leadership to not let public taxpayer money fund a billionaire’s back pockets… supported by besties Mayor Justin Wilson and Governor Glenn Youngkin. #NoPYArena

β€œMost councilors said the proposed arena at PY would be economically positive for the city. Two even traveled to Richmond to advocate for it while the city paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to lobbyists. The projected revenue numbers just weren’t credible and residents rejected it” So true!!

Love visiting the Belle Haven Marina and remembering when I was a kid walking around the Valdez Harbor.

Memphis the musical is purely magical to watchβ€” filled with amazing music and energy! It’s worth going to see it at the The Little Theatre of Alexandria between now and August 10th. Just as good as when I saw it on Broadway in 2010 for the first time.

I heard you guys get on here and talk bad about people like me who participated in Stop the Arena and other causes, so wanted to see what you say

Yes, but is that now going to make it into your mean newsletter… ?! I had a very risky pregnancy during that period and as well as some Covid challenges.

No, I supported Jonathan and he was a member of our Stop the arena group. He said, β€œEliminating single family zoning was peeing on my shoes and telling me it’s raining progressive or equitable public policy,” Huskey said. β€œIt was not.”

Yes I know of him and have read his columns. I was one of the leaders and founders of the Stop the Arena group and have fought many issues over the years in Potomac Yard.

I know nothing about Rosello nor his reasons for doing something in the past, and that’s not relevant from this latest primary election is it?

I am not indicating corruption, just asking what is the agenda with this donation… why is feeling so charitable with such β€œprogressive” Dems? And pointing out what I find hypocritical about taking so much money from someone who themselves gives money to the other side

Reviewing this list of where he donates, I don’t see how anyone that claims to be progressive and want to implement these important values would take money from him. The first PAC on the list, for 50k, is for Ron DeSantis.

OpenSecrets

If one digs into this website, www.opensecrets.org/search?order... you can see that this donor seems to mostly donate to very Republican MAGA causes and PACs/ people

I am speaking personally and not on behalf of Byrd, but I don’t think anyone donates that much money to a political candidate (and top donor for Canek, John and Kirk) without hoping to get something in return

After Workers Vote, Alyia’s top two donors were Reginald Brown and his wife Tiffany Sanchez. Almost 70k from one family just to Alyia, and he happens to be on the Board of Blackstone Group, one of the largest companies in the world for real estate investment and development.

He donated almost 100k (Alyia, John, Kirk and Canek) in the Democratic primary according to public information β€” see here:

Probably developers? Ever heard of Blackstone Group, the major donor that bankrolled a lot of Alyia’s campaign as well as the biggest donor for many of the incumbents that ran in the primary. Funny that such β€œprogressive” Dems would even take money from a guy that mostly donates to MAGA candidates
