I visited Boise last night for the express purpose of seeing and/or photographing the northern lights. While I was waiting for some action, I took a phone picture (stack) of Orion rising behind a hill. I was surprised and pleased to see a SAR arc photobombing Orion.

Bonus: I took a stacked photo of Orion coming over a hill with my Pixel 9, and was surprised to see a SAR arc from the geomagnetic storm in the background.

I'm currently at the Bread Rock overlook. It's pretty (when the clouds part), but no lights (that I can see) yet.

About to depart on a last minute vacation to Boise. The hope is too see the northern lights tonight and fly back tomorrow.

I agree, though I haven't gotten really good at using it (on my 8" cat, which does have an EAF). I plan to up my game so refocusing really is painless, and yes, I'll probably install one on the SQA55 eventually.

Google made good on its threat to end support for Manifest V2 extensions, making it impossible to run uBlock Origin in Chrome. Today's web is unusable to me without the functionality provided by uBlock Origin

Our three cars are 15, 25, and 35 years old. If you care about total lifetime carbon emissions, cars should last 25 years. I challenge you to find a 25-year-old computer interface that isn't hopelessly obsolete. The problem is real. It affects appliances as well as cars.
