It reminded me of a couple of things I’ve read recently: @alice-mck.bsky.social’s book about femslash fanfiction working with the rubble of popular culture to build something better; @roopikarisam.bsky.social's keynote at DH2025 about how to work with what we have instead of starting from scratch.

I've just returned from DH2025, Lisbon. During the closing ceremony, the audience was thrilled by the introduction of Daejeon as the host of DH2026. The KADH president elect's humor—linking Korea's crazy speed in securing the conference right after joining ADHO
