Maybe It Will Happen Today

My version of a Joe Shuster-style Superman drawing. He’s in a wide stance with his arms wide and flexed as chains around his arms, chest, and ankles shatter. He has a slightly amused look on his face. The color palette is almost inverted with maroon for the blue, and tall for the red. And instead of an S in the shield on his chest it’s an M. But not really an M. It’s a symbol that means ‘Maybe it will happen today’. Over his head in signature zooming 3D type it says ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

A spiral of dimensional block letters diminishing toward a vanishing point in one-point perspective into a void within which is a negative silhouette of a falling human form. The letters read ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

Again, a strange one, stick with me. This is a digital ink drawing on a toned paper background done with lots of crosshatching. Two basic donut/torus shapes. Each one has two legs. On the left they are animal-type hind legs with the e toes each; on the right they are human-like legs. Left has spots on its upper area and a fox-like upright tail, right has stripes and a long sweeping tail something like a puma. Each torus has a smaller torus shape in what you’d perceive to be its ‘front’. The one in the left is horizontal and the left is vertical and they are linked together. Inside the hole of the left torus reclines a rabbit with quite long ears. In his nearer hand he holds a flag pole and in his far hand a flintlock pistol. Facing the rabbit from the hole of the other torus is a frog holding a matching flagpole and a torch. Their two flagpoles hold a banner between them over their two mounts which reads ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

A tribute to the suburban surrealist version of Heathcliff by Peter Gallagher. Heathcliff, an orange cartoon cat, is standing on a neighborhood sidewalk with three generic compatriot cats and a frog. All of the assembled are wearing helmets in various colors. Each helmet has one word written on it and read together they say ‘Maybe it will happen today’. Sitting in a tree above the sidewalk are two yellow birds one of whom is speaking the caption of the comic which is ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

It’s perfectly fine to post/repost MIWHT images as long as there is proper attribution and you also have to preserve alt text. Don’t disrespect the alt text.
