people are getting on tiktok and signing the exact english words claiming it’s ASL and then getting mad when someone who is Deaf/HoH says “that’s not how you interpret music”

ASL is not a trend!!!! its a language of its own with its own sentence structure and grammar and unless you are Deaf/HOH or an actual interpreter you should not be posting “tutorials” of how to sign to a song

if someone went onto tiktok and started speaking gibberish with an accent not their own, claiming that it was the native language they would get cancelled. so why is it okay that people get on and make videos claiming for it to be ASL when they’re using objectively wrong and even nonexistent signs??

Albeism is another arm of white supremacy. Stop feeding into it!!

You can't be pro Black if you're excluding disabled Black people.

What's worse is we're so good at pattern recognition that we can detect the smallest change in someone's attitude towards us and we know the separation is coming but can't for the life of us figure out why it's happening

The reality of being autistic is losing all types of relationships... friendships, romantic partners, jobs... having absolutely no idea what you did & never being given a chance to even understand because no one is willing to communicate with you because
"you know what you did"

remember when SNAP benefits weren’t going to get distributed for november and a bunch of people and communities organized and mobilized to get people fed? yeah what happened to that

the autistic neurotype has never been as “rare” as clinicians make it out to be. it’s just been very strategically and systemically under and misdiagnosed.

neurodivergence is not just autism and ADHD. 

neurodivergence is also mental health disabilities, including the ones that are demonized. 

bipolar disorders
schizophrenia 
dissociative disorders 
personality disorders including yes, narcissistic personality disorder

thank you 🫂 i will definitely be contacting them. i’m surprised because i always fly delta and never have had an issue like this. thankfully Baloo is a good boy and ignored her then checked in with me to be like “mom did you see that????” 🤣

to the delta flight attendant who waited until she thought i was asleep before reaching down to pet my service dog— please don’t do shit like that. distracting a service dog can be life threatening to their handler. i promise you, even if he doesn’t look like it he is working

it’s not enough to say “all are welcome” if there’s 3 steps to get into your shop

it’s not enough to say “invisible disabilities are disabilities too” if your even has bright and flashing strobe lights

you have to expect for disabled people to exist anywhere you do. it’s not enough to just have a sign that says “service dogs welcome” if the door to your store is too heavy for a service dog to open
