Lionel Messi has signed an extension through 2028, Inter Miami announced Thursday.
The deal comes before Messi’s playoff opener vs. Nashville SC on Friday. He’s expected to play despite some back discomfort this week.

Asked if Messi could play 90 minutes, Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said he could play even more.
Messi was given a rest day Tuesday after some back discomfort.
