Fund the agencies. Deploy modern technology. Streamline reviews while protecting community voices.

Democrats have done it. It works.

But that's not what Republicans are offering.

This bill isn't about building faster. It's about silencing you.

Under House Republicans’ proposal, your input doesn't matter. Your health isn't a priority. Your day in court will never come.

All so billionaire polluters can get to "yes" faster.

When Democrats invested $1 billion in permitting staff and technology, review timelines dropped by almost a year and a half.

THAT'S real reform. More people doing the work, not taking way liberties & protections from Americans.

But sure, let's gut environmental protections for Americans instead. 🙄

Now look at what's NOT in here:

❌ Nothing to fix understaffed agencies (the actual cause of delays)
❌ Nothing on transmission (the real bottleneck for new energy)
❌ Nothing to stop Trump's war on clean energy

That tells you everything you need to know about how serious this “permitting reform” is.

And it slams the courthouse door on everyday Americans.

Right now, you have 6 years to challenge a harmful project. This bill cuts that to 5 MONTHS.

Five months to organize your neighbors, find lawyers, build a case—while the bulldozers are already rolling. Good luck with that!

Oh, and it locks agencies into using outdated science.

What if new data comes out that shows a project is more dangerous than we thought? Too bad, say House Republicans. No changing course.

It blindfolds federal agencies from considering the full scope of a project's consequences.

The language is so vague, it'll trigger years of litigation over what counts as an "impact."

Republicans say they want less litigation. This bill will just create more.

This bill rigs the game for oil, gas, and mining companies.

Meanwhile, wind and solar projects are frozen across the country, and this bill does NOTHING to restart them.

Faster permitting for whom, exactly?

For 55 years, NEPA has done something simple: require the government to look before it leaps.

Study the impacts. Hear from affected communities. Understand the consequences before greenlighting a project.

Republicans are trying to gut it.

Under the so-called "SPEED Act," a court could find a project is illegal, threatens public health, and is based on fraudulent environmental reviews—and STILL not be able to stop it.

They’re just hoping the word "speed" is enough to make you look the other way.

I was just at a @naturalresources.bsky.social hearing on my bill that identifies best practices for efficient and environmentally responsible geothermal permitting. Attacks on clean energy are costing Americans, killing hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs, and intensifying the climate crisis.

GOP priorities:
✅ Investigate nonprofits for winning lawsuits fair and square to protect public lands.
✅ Ignore American oil companies colluding with foreign cartels to jack up gas prices.

Make it make sense.

Glorifying himself.

This is what dictators do.

On Native American Heritage Day, Democrats are fighting to uplift Native voices, work to advance their priorities, and defend tribal sovereignty against those who seek to undermine it.

We will never stop standing with Tribal nations.

President Trump is actively making your life more expensive.

Americans need cheaper energy and lower costs. But all he's done is wage a war on clean energy that would actually make that happen.

To actually have real negotiations on permitting reform, they must first stop their war on clean energy.
