Americans are already drowning in bills.

Trump wants to make that even worse, locking us into dirtier air, higher energy costs, and billions in new medical expenses.

All so a handful of Big Oil CEOs who funded his campaign keep getting richer off your paycheck.

🚨 Republicans just gave Big Tech a MASSIVE handout.

@rephuffman.bsky.social: Meta and Amazon want to run cables through our Marine Sanctuaries for free, trample over all the marine life, and silence communities who depend on these waters.

And Republicans are all too willing to please.

Tribal citizens are being grabbed off the streets by Trump's masked ICE agents. Held for days or weeks while their family has no idea where they are.

A Republican's response? "There will be mistakes."

@rephuffman.bsky.social wasn't having it πŸ‘‡

Removing a sign doesn't change what happened. It tells us what you're afraid people will learn.

Authoritarian governments that erased inconvenient history used to be something we fought against abroad. But now, the Trump administration is making sure we become one.

Our national parks. Our public lands. Our coastlines. Our clean air and water. Our clean energy future.

A year into Trump's second term and this corrupt Republican Congress, all of it is under attack, all so billionaires and Big Oil can get even richer.

House Republicans finally finished turning the U.S. Congress into the American Duma. Two bills passed unanimously β€” every Republican voted yes β€” and today, they killed their own bills because Trump threw a tantrum.

Doormats. Every single one of them. @rephuffman.bsky.social on the floor πŸ‘‡

Compensation for wildland firefighters dying from exposure is long overdue. But it's not enough to pay families after the damage is done.

We need masks, research, and real protections on the frontlines. Democrats will keep fighting until these heroes get the care they deserve.

House Republicans used their final day to pass handouts to polluters, foreign mining companies, and the NRA.

Everyone else? A lump of coal.

What If You Couldn't Stop a Pipeline β€” Even After Proving It Would Poison Your Water? Under a Republican proposal, a project can be proven illegal, dangerous, and based on lies. Republicans are saying build it anyway.

Want the full breakdown? We go deeper on everything in this bill on our Substack πŸ‘‡ open.substack.com/pub/naturalr...

They're selling out your voice, your health, and your day in court to pad the pockets of billionaire polluters.

And they're hoping the word "speed" makes you look the other way.

The vote is this afternoon . We’re fighting this every step of the way.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Here's the thing: America CAN build faster and smarter.

Fund the agencies. Deploy modern technology. Streamline reviews while protecting community voices.

Democrats have done it. It works.

But that's not what Republicans are offering.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This bill isn't about building faster. It's about silencing you.

Under House Republicans’ proposal, your input doesn't matter. Your health isn't a priority. Your day in court will never come.

All so billionaire polluters can get to "yes" faster.

When Democrats invested $1 billion in permitting staff and technology, review timelines dropped by almost a year and a half.

THAT'S real reform. More people doing the work, not taking way liberties & protections from Americans.

But sure, let's gut environmental protections for Americans instead. πŸ™„

Now look at what's NOT in here:

❌ Nothing to fix understaffed agencies (the actual cause of delays)
❌ Nothing on transmission (the real bottleneck for new energy)
❌ Nothing to stop Trump's war on clean energy

That tells you everything you need to know about how serious this β€œpermitting reform” is.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And it slams the courthouse door on everyday Americans.

Right now, you have 6 years to challenge a harmful project. This bill cuts that to 5 MONTHS.

Five months to organize your neighbors, find lawyers, build a caseβ€”while the bulldozers are already rolling. Good luck with that!

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh, and it locks agencies into using outdated science.

What if new data comes out that shows a project is more dangerous than we thought? Too bad, say House Republicans. No changing course.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It blindfolds federal agencies from considering the full scope of a project's consequences.

The language is so vague, it'll trigger years of litigation over what counts as an "impact."

Republicans say they want less litigation. This bill will just create more.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This bill rigs the game for oil, gas, and mining companies.

Meanwhile, wind and solar projects are frozen across the country, and this bill does NOTHING to restart them.

Faster permitting for whom, exactly?

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

For 55 years, NEPA has done something simple: require the government to look before it leaps.

Study the impacts. Hear from affected communities. Understand the consequences before greenlighting a project.

Republicans are trying to gut it.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Under the so-called "SPEED Act," a court could find a project is illegal, threatens public health, and is based on fraudulent environmental reviewsβ€”and STILL not be able to stop it.

They’re just hoping the word "speed" is enough to make you look the other way.

18.12.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

What if you couldn't stop a pipeline, even after proving it would poison your water?

Republicans named this bill the "SPEED Act" and they are absolutely counting on you not reading it.

Here's what they’re not telling you (a 🧡)

I was just at a @naturalresources.bsky.social hearing on my bill that identifies best practices for efficient and environmentally responsible geothermal permitting. Attacks on clean energy are costing Americans, killing hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs, and intensifying the climate crisis.

GOP priorities:
βœ… Investigate nonprofits for winning lawsuits fair and square to protect public lands.
βœ… Ignore American oil companies colluding with foreign cartels to jack up gas prices.

Make it make sense.

President Trump is actively making your life more expensive.

Americans need cheaper energy and lower costs. But all he's done is wage a war on clean energy that would actually make that happen.

@rephuffman.bsky.social: "I've been taking notes... Just remember, you started it."

20.11.2025 17:34 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This is exactly it. All Trump and the GOP have done is KILL clean energy projects left and right to cut deals for their polluter buddies.

To actually have real negotiations on permitting reform, they must first stop their war on clean energy.
