Mainstream pundits have instantly sanitized and ignored Charlie Kirk's core political project and its impacts. He has been remembered by the mainstream press as someone they merely disagreed with, a debate me-guy whose words and actions had zero consequences:

If liberals like Ezra are saying that someone who called for Gay people to be stoned, trans people to be lynched, Black people to accept police violence and women to obey did politics "the right way", that is in some respects more alarming that the bloviation of the far right. Bend that knee, Ezra.

As someone who spent many hours listening to Kirk’s show on AM radio, I would say that he made Rush Limbaugh seem like Walter Cronkite by comparison, in terms of rhetorical tone and empirical rigor. The subtext of every show was “You don’t hate the left enough.”

The orgy of liberal pundits tripping over each other to praise Charlie Kirk—when he caused so much violence to the lives of Black and LGBTQ people (including me specifically)—is telling about why the Dems can’t build an antifascist coalition.

It's not lost on me that Trump ordered flags lowered for Charlie Kirk and ordered them raised for Jimmy Carter.

The more white wing media at the Times and the Post try to gaslight people about what Kirk stood for, the more social media accounts, and new media journalists will continue posting receipts.
