We know Trump & Elon are corrupt. We’ve learned even more in the past 48 hours:

🚙 Trump’s State Department tried to funnel $400 million to Tesla.

💰 Elon received $38 billion in government contracts, loans, & tax credits.

🛰️ The FAA gave a contract to Elon’s company Starlink, worth billions.

Personally I just think things like NIH, USAID, education programs , Medicare, social security are better things to do with tax money than getting that money to businesses like spaceX and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. #oligarchy

Excellent 🧵 on this evening's NIH announcement of a dramatic reduction in indirect rates for research institutions, which amounts to a generational restructuring of the US research and development ecosystem. These cuts are effective immediately, not just for new grants but for existing ones.

This is really bad and devastating to research and science. Grants have direct and indirect costs - both needed to carry out a project. This will make doing research in academic institutions and hospitals pretty much impossible. grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...
