There seems to be little logic to what is being done, since all signs are that it is going to severely damage the country and most of its citizens.

What is happening in America right now is incomprehensible, shameful and moronic -- all at once. The country as we knew it is disappearing before our eyes, and the government that is supposed to protect our rights is rapidly destroying them.

The country is being gutted before our eyes, and the supine Republicans who are letting this happen will go down in history as the cowardly enablers they are. The damage that is being done is hard to calculate, but it will be paid by all Americans for many years if not decades to come.

It is rapidly getting very dark -- and this is only the beginning. Vietnam-war-like demonstrations in the streets, peaceful but massive and determined, will have to be mounted, and the sooner the better.

Research Universities in the USA are the envy of much of the world. They generate economic benefits and attract the best talent from all over the globe. In one fell swoop TrumpMusk are about to destroy this enterprise, with disastrous effects for every state university, amongst others. Happy now?
