What an incredible week here at the FIRST World Championships! The Hive made it to finals (apparently a first for an Utah team!) and they were the third place Motivate Award winners! Couldn’t be prouder of my incredible kid and this hard working team, coaches, and mentors.

I don’t think we’re in Utah anymore Toto! I very nearly went to this event, but seems they didn’t even need me. Utah showed up!

It is a small comfort that, though my portfolio is in the gutter right now, rich people have lost WAY more money than me in this dumpster fire.

Helping my 16 year old get his resume ready to apply for a summer internship, and his resume is significantly more impressive than mine is. Raising a kid who is already so much better than me is pretty awesome 😁

Looking at my 401k…I guess my new retirement plan is to try to die before I retire

I have had schedule conflicts making me unavailable to perform with my taiko group the last couple of months, so I was really excited to get to be back on stage with these incredible drummers on Friday 😁

Instead of March Madness this year I'll be doing a little something called Starch Sadness which is where I just eat potatoes until I feel better.

The Hive are 2025 State Champions! Winning alliance captains AND Inspire award winners! What weekend! Hardest working kids in Utah!

Had to go out to eat last night, drove 15 miles out of the town we’re staying in, up a dark road away from civilization to find a non chain restaurant. I was sure it was a trap, getting lured into the hills with the promise of supporting a small business by eating steak. No trap! Best meal ever!

It’ll be hard not to eat out or buy gas since we’ll be on the road tomorrow traveling. But I do like a challenge. Especially one that doesn’t cost money and hurts the rich and powerful.

If they did that I couldn’t move to Calidenforniamark fast enough

I finally watched the halftime show, after seeing all the negative comments, I expected the worst. But holy shitballs, that show was incredible! Did I see a different one? What are you dummies talking about? The production, the sound, the imagery, and Kendrick himself, fire as always! LOVED IT!!

I am not watching the superbowl. Instead I’m drinking tea and listening to a Quebecois Noir audiobook. I no longer identify as an American I guess.

My youngest son is involved in FIRST Tech Challenge, and every time I go to a competition, my cynical crusty exterior dissolves and I come away bursting with pride and hope for our future. These kids are brilliant and kind and when they grow up to take on the world, I know we’ll be ok 🤖❤️

A little present for myself for surviving January. It’s a vintage Elsa Peretti Bean necklace in silver. The itty bitty one. I love it ❤️ I’ve never had anything that came in the blue box before, so a photo was needed to commemorate the occasion.

Haven’t been able to go to taiko rehearsal for a few weeks and oh how I have missed it! I made it last night and it filled me with so much joy. Taiko is my happy place
