I've always hated the fandom need to find the "true" ending of Silent Hill 2 when the game is pretty clear--James' past is set, but his future depends on his actions. He can drown in his crimes, atone, repeat them. He can go to space and make out with Harry Mason. These are all equally valid.

I'm on a Fallout New Vegas kick again and holy shit, it is such a good game. Admittedly, it's clunky at times, but the world building, RPG elements, and environmental storytelling make up for the crust.
