These stats (views, monthly listeners, followers etc.) are absolutely the most toxic thing about the current music landscape. Not only are they antithetical to the artistic process, they’re also totally misleading and inflated for artists with favorable connections. Best to ignore them entirely imo!

Last night I was talking to a punisher at the merch table. He was young and very high. He said”yeah man, I love music… it’s trippy how like, if you tried to listen to all of it, you couldn’t get through it all in a day, you know?” And I was like “yeah man that is trippy!”

Yeah I was like “7 hours is, wait that’s like, 10 records”
