Yeah I’m under no illusions it’s a great business decision, but it’s a better one than past regimes would have made. Reset and hope the recruitment is better this time around. But back to your point, if the recruitment isn’t better overall then that much on Cunha would be a mistake. Time will tell.

Getting his wages off the books is a win on its own. We’ve been run so poorly for over a decade, these small steps are good signs things are turning around. Im under no illusions we will get huge fees, it’s simply a step in the right direction.

Most seasons I’d agree with that, but we will get decent fees for Antony, Marcus & Malacia etc. and their wages off the books which will make a huge impact.

I agree, this is never going to get fixed in one window but it sounds like Cunha, Delap & budget left over before sales, & we have a LOT of sales to make. Time will tell if Berada/Wilcox have learned from their first summer in charge and can come good. Signings like Ayden Heaven give me some hope 👍

He won’t be the only signing this summer, I’m reserving my judgement because if he’s part of a larger squad reset he could be a massive addition.

Let’s not forget Amorim’s first summer at Sporting they moved on like 25 first team players, it won’t be that many but it gives me hope!

There seems to be big questions around his fit in the new system, tactically & his overall coachability. He’s one of the few players we’d get a decent fee for, & 100% profit that could be spent this window. Add a sell on % or buy back clause and it’s probably a win/win scenario for us.

Bummed to read this; I love your work, but definitely understand...when I stepped away from working "in the game," it was difficult at first, but eventually, the mental health reset/work-life balance allowed me to fall in love with ⚽ all over again on my own terms. I hope the same happens for you.
