University of Illinois Cancer Center member Sang-Oh Yoon, PhD, is the corresponding author on a study published in the journal Molecular Cell.

The study examines how inhibiting mTOR alters how cells manage lipids.

New discovery from UIC and Cancer Center researchers!

Aging may be driven by declining levels of platelet factor 4 — and adding PF4 to old blood cells reversed signs of aging. This could lead to therapies for age-related blood/immune disorders.

The Cancer Center has named William Chadwick, DO, as the 2025–2026 Richard B. Warnecke, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow!

Chadwick will receive $15K to advance his work on improving outcome prediction in uveal melanoma, a rare but deadly eye cancer.
