This Grade II* windmill in Thaxted, Essex, built in 1804 for John Webb, is a red brick tower mill that has been restored but lost a sail in 2010, closing it to visitors. Funding is now secured for essential repairs. We look forward to seeing it operational again!

when I do #genealogy research I tend to go off on every branch and just keep on going, since doing a Ancestry DNA Test many years ago, I've added what I call floating trees as well without actually connecting them to my main tree so I think its time for a tidy up #familytree

Graffiti

Graffiti in the parts of Sydney that I visit most is stuck in time. Nothing added in the last couple of decades, and there’s a strange appeal. Not quite a museum, but a time capsule.

This modest house in Cambridge is is a unique survival of David Parr's painted interiors. On Parr’s death, his granddaughter moved in and stayed for over 80 yrs. The house tells an unexpected story of both Victorian Arts and Crafts and 20th Century social history.
