It's been a million years since I posted anything here, but uh, I'm doing comics now? Other stuff too, even. Books and such.

Oh, and if you come up to ME specifically, the woman who painstakingly curates a romance section, for a "trashy romance novel" you deserve every bit of barely concealed seething disdain I'm going to serve you.

Friendly suggestion from your bookseller pal: Don't walk into an indie bookshop this holiday season to task for "a terrible book" for your joke gift exchange. Generally, indies are lovingly curated by buyers and staff, who don't think calling their favs trash is very funny. ✌🏻

This isn't a complaint (I love publicists) but I do always laugh a bit when I see how long an email thread with an author is vs with their publicist. I can schedule an interview with an author in 3 emails. Publicists? Minimum 12.

I'm so with you. The idea that every woman needs to be obsessed with/feel negatively about their weight, the super narrow depiction of that weight, combined with the necessary external validation from some dude who thinks she's hot... Exhausting.

If your entire backlist is heroines who hate the way they look because they're fat... idk man. Feels bad.

I am once again kindly requesting that authors writing plus sized heroines not make every single one them unaware of their own attractiveness and/or actively hate their bodies. Please.

I just think that one of the meanest things a person can say to someone is "you look like someone who would date a DJ"

Anyway, please appreciate the block prints included in the book boxes all laid out together. Each one is printed on paper I made myself by a stamp I carved myself and yes, doing dozens in an afternoon DID do unholy things to my arm/spine/shoulder/mental stability

This isn't a complaint so much as an explanation for the folks who might be wondering why I'm quieter than normal/not responding to DMs right away.

My current status: hanging on by my fingernails. Also, if you're gonna say something about me needing a break... Yes, I am aware. 😂

I haven't slept more than 5 hours a night in almost two months. I've written almost 40k over a total of seven days. My life is nothing but book boxes and chemicals. I have a book cover & stepback to finish. The holiday season looms over the bookshop. I would love to become soup as soon as possible.

Gas up your favorite artists folks. Its literally a combat maneuver in the face of all the shit we face today. Go find somebody and make them know their stuff matters.

I have written so much in three days and very briefly felt accomplished and then I realized I need to have 40k done by the end of next week. Reader, I'm at 11.5k and only have [CHECKS NOTES] six writing days to do it.
