Moose the Cat

Moose, the crazy ginger cat, is in a mood. An “I’m up to no good and looking for a fight” wrestling mood. He sits on the wood floor and stares up at the lower branch of the cat tree where Indie, his chonk of a calico sister, sits trying to mind her own business. She’s there for a rest. Not for a battle. It’s too early for a battle. A gentle sunbeam lights them both, but the mood is anything but gentle. There is chaos in the air.

Moose springs into action, standing on his hind legs, mouth open as he roars. His right front paw reaches out to swipe at Indie, who sits up and swipes back. WTF?!

The battle continues. Moose dodges Indie’s paw, leans to right and continues his attack. Indie’s ears are back. Her paw is raised going for a swat at Moose’s face, but the ginger cat is too strong, too fast, too annoyingly aggro for the calico.

And so, Indie retreats off the back of the tree . Away from the crazy ginger cat’s onslaught. Away from her annoying brother. The battle has been lost. Moose, moments later, would walk into the kitchen with energy to spare. And, no joke, bite down on his water dish and flip it over, spilling water everywhere. What a jerk. But we love him.

…and then I went into the kitchen and flipped over my water bowl.

Stay orange, friend. Never change.

Like he doesn’t always kick up tons of litter everywhere whenever he pees. Like he doesn’t hop up on the kitchen counter and chew on whatever things he finds while everyone else is asleep. Don’t trust him! He’s a naughty cat.

Who me? I didn’t do anything wrong. Honest.

My tail feels especially long today.
