Flying into Calgary on my brother’s birthday is certainly …something…emotionally.

I’m not sure… it’s mostly weirding me out. LOL.

Does anyone else get irrationally angry on flights when people stand/go to the bathroom when the seatbelt light is on?

This flight has a camera on the tail that allows you to watch the flight. We’re seated in exit row, so it’s up on the wall where I can’t turn it off.

Why are there so many old men with camo backpacks waiting for this flight.

I made it to my gate without anyone yelling at me. How relaxing.

Look, I’m a picky eater, so there was a better than decent chance I was going to reject it anyway, but I just discovered that Air Canada doesn’t actually serve food on my 4.5 hr flight and I’m a little put out.

(They will, however, SELL me food.)

It is harder to pack for shorter trips (less than a week/a weekend) than for longer ones.

My photo shows detail from a Roman fresco (wall painting) in a corridor at Villa A, the luxurious so-called ‘Villa Poppaea’ at ancient Oplontis (modern day Torre Annunziata) in the Bay of Naples, Italy. The fresco depicts a small light brown bird standing on a small pinky-brown wooden shelf, against a vibrant red background panel. The bird is shown in profile, facing left, with plummage painted in various shades of light brown and grey to beautifully depict detail of its feathers. The bird is lowering its head with beak open, about to peck into a fig on the shelf in front. There are two further figs painted behind the bird which have already been pecked into. The figs are painted light brown. The figs which have already been pecked into have cream flesh and red seeds.

This little bird survived a volcanic eruption!

Buried by volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius in AD 79, this Roman fresco of a little bird pecking at fruit re-emerged looking as delightful as it did some 2,000 years ago!
