So far in 2025 I’ve only had 2 cdramas on the to-watch list and both have gone the tragic BE route

I was loving FYX’s vinegar jar shenanigans in ep 16 all the way until he proposed a DEAL to her rather than a true marriage 😭💔 We all know he’s down bad deep inside but man that was rough

Ep 15 was actual peak - Hanyan and her mother are united and finally sharing that loving mother/daughter bond they wanted, Fu Yunxi’s simp side is showing, Hanyan makes an excellent showing at the lantern-viewing event and Yushan’s comeuppance is due 👏🏻

It’s been 14 eps and they’ve finally decided to work together omg

Why are the female relationships so much more interesting than the romance in this drama so far - Hanyan/her mother + Hanyan/Chai Jing are peak

Yes her mother didn’t tell her anything, but you’d think a smart girl like her would’ve dug further to find out WHY her mother hated her dad before jumping immediately to his defense 💀😩 For someone who apparently treasures her mother in particular, she sure seems to be more of a hindrance than help

Kind of made up for Hanyan doing uncharacteristically dumb things of late - like blindly accusing her mother of shady business even though she doesn’t know shit and giving Zhou Ruyin ammo to frame her with 🙄)

This whole Danzhou murder subplot is so illogical though - for someone as smart as Hanyan, it makes no sense that she didn’t try to cover her tracks and made up such a crazy story about the culprits being a bandit gang in the first place 💀 Doesn’t bear up under ANY scrutiny

Chai Jing’s sacrifice is heart breaking - having heard spoilers about FYX, I’d thought if all went wrong then at least Hanyan has a forever friend 😭 WTF is this

FYX’s gone from blackmailing Hanyan to trying to help her unprovoked 👏🏻😏 So handy having the head of the judicial review bureau on your side AND a female assassin as your bestie
