This is what I need cis folks to understand.

It's been a decade.

Imagine living TEN FUCKING YEARS watching as a blatant, artificial campaign to erase your personhood, your identity and your safety chugs along, increasing in power every single day, and most people don't care or dismiss it

New schedule is teaching me that a lot of “24-hour” drive-thrus shut down around 4am. Which is delightful to learn on my way to work after missing dinner last night.

How did I not realize until recently that Rose Byrne looks a little like Abigail Thorn?

I keep seeing clips of Byrne in awards season coverage, and every time it takes a minute for my brain to realize it’s her and not Thorn.

Shit’s bad. It’s going to get way, way worse.

Take the joy where you can and remember that just surviving through this is an act of defiance. I love you all, and I hope everyone here does their best to stay safe, y’all.

Starfleet Academy airing this time of year means I’m annoying my son by pointing out who all in the cast are Oscar nominees*.

*Giamatti in 06 & 24, Hunter twice in 94 (won one) & 04, Notaro two days ago.

Me and Chris reacting to the Delroy Lindo nomination, and very sincerely this sums up what I love so much about the Oscars. There's a pure joy in seeing a well-deserved surprise that is just really not matched by anything else!

There are 45 movies nominated for Oscars that I haven’t seen yet. The awards are 52 days away. That seems doable.

(Assuming movies are available to watch at times & locations that don’t run up against work, family, social, or sleep obligations.)

Honestly a better batch of #OscarNoms than I was expecting. Really happy with Come See Me in the Good Light and all the nominations for Sinners. Looking forward to catching up on movies over the next couple months and getting way too emotionally invested in the awards come March.

The titles of the live action short nominees are an absolute delight this year. #OscarNoms

(I say that, then it loses the next two awards)

Feeling like tonight is going to be One Award After Another.

Pleasantly surprised that Seth Rogan won for The Studio. It really is a great show.

Also pleasantly surprised that he gave a sincere speech and didn’t do the joke from the Globes episode of his own show.

Not sure which is more pointless, the “here’s where the nominees are sitting” thing or the weird rambling commentary as the winners walk to the stage.

Interviewer just said to Ariana Grande, “Can I be your best friend since Cynthia’s not here?”

I assume this is what my friends ask each other when I’m not around.

(There aren’t nearly as many celebrities with my name as there used to be, I have to amuse myself where I can.)

Jean Smart improves everything she’s in, including red carpet interviews.

It is interesting seeing who does and doesn’t acknowledge current events on red carpets this season.

My mammogram tech today asked if I’d ever given birth and what age I started getting my cycle, which I’m going to be feeling good about for a while.
