Hi, me again. It’s not Friday but I’ve got a
personal mutual aid request, specific to Seattle area.

Family friend lost their job and their housing. They tried to move back in with their parents but their parents said “Since you’re not a Christian you cannot stay in our home.” Big sigh.

When I was a homeless man living in Florida, there was a point when you couldn’t get SNAP benefits without enrolling in job training.

Why? Because the government assumed that if you needed help, it’s because you didn’t want a job.

As many as 60% of all unhoused people in America have jobs.

I see how the Portland police interact with houseless people and they're god-damn cowards. It's made all the more obvious when medics arrive and walk right up to the person, squat down to their level, and start quietly talking to the person like a decent human rather than shouting from a distance.
