I recently found this set of four photos in which someone was documenting their cat’s obsession with the television. No date/info.

For me (so far) one thing that jumps out about 2001 is that it's a big year for ambient/downtempo/"lo-fi chill beats to study to" (Air, Zero 7 etc. etc.).

People joke that BlueSky is an “elder millennial retirement community” (I’m 41, firmly in that demographic and there isn’t an influx of 20 year olds on this app in general) and there definitely seem to be some younger people participating. And also other folks vote but don’t comment.

Well the #10 seed won it all in 1999, upsets do happen.

One example - I just listened to the Prefuse 73 and thought it was pretty cool. Gave it a seed vote since it’s unique and is likely to have a lower seed to begin with. Every bit helps!

This is a pretty neat strategy imo. Personally I try to select favorites and some albums in underrepresented genres that could really use the boost (and NOT vote for albums that don't need my help 😉).

Right, that makes sense (and I can think of a few inclusions during the first parade that some folks were not thrilled with).
