Joys today: everyone giving their all in Cwm Rhonda at the end of Mas; fabulous & deeply engaged confirmation group reminding me how much I love exploring faith with others; Brahms Geistliches Lied at Evensong. Each a small candle, lit so we don't have to curse the darkness.

Long ago when twitter was a happy community a lady who was dealing with cancer, "Cherry Bakewell" always singed off reminding us "smile at a stranger & their dog". I've carried on but usually speak to the dog too. This just now I said "Morning beautiful" to a gorgeous cocker poo outside my cathedral

They're remarkable, still struggling at times, but still giving as much as they can to the world when they can

Joyful day included presiding, Shriving and welcoming this powerful piece as our Lent Art work. Thanks to Coventry cathedral I am much braver in responding to visual arts& enjoyed writing a reflection on this.

West Square not only provides a playground for the #WestSqureFoxes, it is also home to three very fine, if slightly recumbent, mulberry trees. I love the texture of their trunks, and all the layers of moss which wrap them round. Zoom in to get a feeling for their gnarled splendour.

Lovely re-entry yesterday: presiding at the Choral Eucharist @southwarkcathedral.bsky.social and baptising delightful N, singing #vensong & bidding a fond farewell to chorister G & his parents, leaving London, & then a 1st chat with a wedding couple. I do rather ❤️my job!
