I understand. Using a 3rd party to contact content creators to promote your tabletop game is easy. They got a list of people to contact. So I get it.

But I’m going to say no every time.

Please invest time into talking with content creators and building relationships with them.

Go through their bank account for the past month. See what they purchased and where it was made. That’d change their mind.

It is a blanket notion of…
“Manufacturers from China encourage child labor and have worst quality.”

It’s laughable how delusional they are…

I’ve spent too much time today arguing on Facebook about how the board game manufacturing industry doesn’t have child labor and companies actually pay their employees livable wages. Even after I said that I have been to China and experienced it myself firsthand. They are truly brainwashed.

Not that I despise my how-to-plays or unboxings; but the amount of time is significantly shorter and less stressful than trends or the silly-fun videos.

The never ending cycle of the Welcome2Boardom content…

-follower “you should do more content specifically talking about your board games”.

-puts more effort into how-to-plays, etc.

-posts content, gets less than 100 views, AND follower doesn’t see it

-I go back to posting what I post…

-repeat

I always feel bad for asking favors from friends.

Like…hey your friendship is more valuable to me than anything in the world. Please don’t think that I’m exploiting you in any sort of way. I just need your help at the moment. I’m sorry for bothering you…just know I appreciate you…

One thing you gotta love about ai art is that it's gonna start learning off of other ai images eventually imploding ai art so it just becomes slop and people stop using it

No, we are not a vendor. My company applies for it every year, only to be rejected every time.
So we have to work around that and it’s just extra work because Gen Con is specific about some things, while being lazy in others.

As an attendee, it would be fine at best for me personally.

Sigh, now i have to play nice…

GenCon will forever be my most hated convention.

As a tabletop game industry worker, it’s a nightmare for me to plan.

As a gamer, it seems fine. I doubt I’d enjoy it if went on my own decision and not for work.

I’m just venting because I’ve already started planning for it.

I’ve officially been posting tabletop gaming content on social media for 4 years on the Welcome 2 Boardom channels.
