6. DID is still greatly stigmatized, especially in Hollywood and in the medical field. There's very little positive representation. And even with otherwise educated MH professionals, too many don't even think DID is real. Those who do often push archaic, outdated "solutions".

4b. Some estimates go as high as 5% which is more people than in the entire United States.

5. DID is most commonly associated with childhood trauma, but there are cases that don't involve trauma or involved trauma experienced as adults. It's a diverse experience and we don't have all the answers!

3. Even if the modern language wasn't used back then, there's cases of DID and plurality both going back into the 1700s! It's not just "a fad" or "created by tiktok".

4. It's not rare. DID alone has a worldwide occurrence of at least 1%. That's over 80m people-- as many people in the entire UK.

1. Not all plurality is DID, not all DID is plurality. Some plural folks/systems aren't disordered at all. Not all with a complex dissociative disorder identify as plural.

2. DID, and plurality in general, is not inherently dangerous. People are more likely to be victims of violences than perps.
