Chicago Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez just addressed the crowd, which I'd put at a couple hundred people strong. A lone counterprotestor is also posted up across the street.

This story was The Pitt at its best and I really appreciate this additional context. Also, Katherine LaNasa, like she is in every scene of the show, is simply extraordinary throughout this difficult sequence, showing empathy, grace, sadness, care and righteous anger.
