Seen on a local hedgerow. Lichen are neither plant or animal, but a symbiotic partnership. Because lichens thrive on bare rock and in extreme conditions, they are symbols of resilience and adaptability. Apparently, they are some of the earth’s oldest life-forms, and can live for over 4000 years!
