This quote is from a fabulous really long interview in the Sept. 1990 issue of BLK. It's an amazing discussion that covers lots of global politics, including her views on the collapse of the USSR and the supposed triumph of capitalism. Right now you can find it here:

"I told you... you ask me a question and after that you have to take a Kalashnikov to stop me!" I think about Eliane & her work often; beyond bedrock for me, but it was hearing her describe her music in the most animated, matter-of-fact way that sticks out; R.I.P.

Got to hear several of the Occam series at Darmstadt years ago, still have no clue how some of the overtones were happening.

Éliane Radigue.
Hearing any of her work (as intended) is a masterclass in "how am I hearing what I think I'm hearing" magick.

So much of it to be played at an almost imperceptible volume.

RIP.

Christina Vantzou's new album is a shimmering wonder; feat Oliver Coates, JAB, Sissi Rada and Ben Bertrand, among others, on a pair of mercurial fantasies that will resonate deeply if you’re into the work of Michèle Bokanowski, Moniek Darge, Harold Budd….

Seems a certain faction of the USA keeps forcing other countries to arm, furthering a radical weaponization [meant literally] that counteracts any possible alternative. Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland funds a random set of artists a livable wage. #readablenews

These narratives keep increasing. To be a tourist "like a local", assuming that locality is something that might be read off performances stripped of their habit. A bet Pascal & the Behaviourists might broker, forgetting that the majority of locals can't afford any of it anymore: priced out.

I'm sorry. As a technology writer, I'm supposed to be telling you that this bet will some day pay off, because one day we will have shoveled so many words into the word-guessing program that it wakes up and learns how to actually do the jobs it is failing spectacularly at today. This is a proposition akin to the idea that if we keep breeding horses to run faster and faster, one of them will give birth to a locomotive. Humans possess intelligence, and machines do not. The difference between a human and a word-guessing program isn't how many words the human knows.

I'm sorry. I know that when we talk about "digital sovereignty," we're obliged to talk about how we can build more data-centres that we can fill up with money-losing chips from American silicon monopolists in the hopes of destroying as many jobs as possible while blowing through our clean energy goals and enshittifying as much of our potable water as possible.

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.
