Despite unfounded claims to the contrary, there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud. The SAVE Act is designed to block eligible people from voting, not to protect elections.

*People of color (who are 3 times more likely not to have ready access to these documents)

*Transgender Americans (who are often denied new passports in their new name)   

*Many disabled Americans (who have difficulty obtaining a passport)

This Act would effectively disenfranchise millions of citizens including married women who have taken their spouse's name

*More than 140 million American citizens who do not currently have a passport, and the elderly are one of the demographic groups least likely to have one

This bill would prevent millions of eligible Americans from voting by requiring citizens to present a birth certificate or passport to register and again to vote. 

Millions of Americans don’t have easy access to these documents.
