Y'all, I know two hours is a big time commitment, but this panel I arranged and hosted last month is one of the most important things I've ever done for video game history. The launch of the NES is a crazier story than most people realize, and my guests were extremely generous with their memories.

I’ve been doing a very casual Sailor Moon rewatch lately, and I really adore the watercolor impressionist vibe of the art design and backgrounds of the first season. Just too, too lovely.

The vibe I want vs. my actual vibe

The first page shows off a vast array of characters that players could discover from those they know at the start such as Gremio to others they may run into much later like the teleporting Viki. All of the characters on both pages orbit Leknaat, the mysterious astrologer and an important character in the world of Genso Suikoden.

The second page is like the first, featuring a vast collection of characters players may potentially run across and recruit. In the upper left, wielding a bo staff, is the hero players will act as in the main story. The range of characters that players will encounter do many different things from being a chef or rebel leader to being a deadly vampire whose power you must break before taking the first step in defending your land from invasion! This side of the ad also noted that this version is like the original release on the PlayStation, but it also had a number of extras added in from small quests and features to tweaks to the presentation.

Seeing so many characters here isn't just for show. Players could discover and recruit 108 potential allies with a wide range of talents from fighters to innkeepers!

Because I’m old, I remember seeing the video for Blood Makes Noise on 120 Minutes and going to the CD store at the mall to get the CD only to find it wasn’t going to be out for a month. A long month.

That album is just too good. 1992 is my favorite year for music.

99.9F (the album) is an all-time classic.
