Not that that should be a pass. I would vastly prefer stronger narrative/character work, but as this was actively trying to be starfox but not really, it just felt in brand for me and I found that charming

Ya know what, that's fair and i'm realizing I made the same observation from a different angle. I saw it as Starfox itself not actually having great characterization and I only got attached coz I was a kid and this would likely do the same for me if that was still the case haha

Honestly? Kinda scratches a lot of the ticks I used to enjoy about Sonic games but without all the baggage and gimmickry getting in the way
