The Capitol boy had finally caught up with his colorful rainbow bird. He could easily tell from her breathing that she was in pain. Somehow he wanted to alleviate her suffering, but he didn't know how. He was also responsible for some things, but he didn't want to hear that right now.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed another figure trying to escape from him. It could only be Lucy Gray!

"I know, I know... It was my fault, apparently, but..."

Whose fault was it in the end? Coriolanus didn't even want to begin to admit to himself that he could be the burning issue. A lot had changed between him and his songbird, but would they ever be able to get back together? As we all know, that hope died last if you didn't try.

Coriolanus had become unpredictable and dangerous, his words hardly meant anything, or perhaps they did? The game of cat and mouse went on for a while until he answered her.

"Yes, I wanted to leave, but I can't leave you here. I know you know your way around, but you'll die here. Understand that."

He came closer to her and he could feel it, because her voice became clearer and clearer. However, it had a somewhat angry undertone, as Lucy Gray had nothing but her safety in mind, which was understandable.

He, who had done this cruel deed to her. Surely he wouldn't k*ll her, even if he had tried once before, unintentionally, but there was no medical care out here.

"There's no way you can manage out here on your own! I'm not asking you anymore but demanding it, come out of hiding! We can talk about it if something unforeseen happens! Your injuries..."

Coriolanus tried to reassure Lucy Gray and convince her that he was her only salvation.

What would the end look like? Coriolanus walked a little faster, trying to win Lucy Gray over to his flying songbird once more.

"No. You know I can't do that, Lucy Gray! You need me as much as I need you, or you'll never survive. Come out of hiding, we could start all over again."

He heard her voice from a distance. A familiar, sweet voice that currently sounded a little anxious and uncertain. Why should he turn back and just leave her here with her injuries? Surely he was nothing more to her than an animal trying to chase her until he finally got her.

The trust in each other was broken through and through and it could not be restored, or was there still a possibility? Partly, Coriolanus doubted his intelligence. Lucy Gray would never forgive him again. By now his steps were a run, he tried to catch up with her. She was his. He had to possess her.

His words echoed through the forest again; he was still unable to reach her. Of course she was the winner of the tenth Hunger Games and a survivor, but with a wound like that she couldn't get far enough away from him.

I know you're hurt, I can help you! Wait!"

Suddenly these noises got louder, as if someone was running. Would she really try to run away from him after being shot? Perhaps he could now put certain inconsistencies right? She couldn't possibly survive here alone, even if this was her home.

"...you can't escape me! Lucy Gray! +

Of course, she would never have been able to reconcile it with her conscience if the snake had actually been dangerous to him. Now he couldn't afford to make any mistakes! Suddenly he steps on a stick that breaks under his feet. Silence.

"Lucy Gray?"

The damn snake! Was it really poisonous? None of the apparitions are appearing yet... That could change. The blond-haired Capitol boy was angry, but more hurt by the fact that he had lost her forever. No! Lucy Gray, he had to find her! He tried to pick up the trail again.

Despite the strange feeling he had inside him, he wanted to continue on his way. Perhaps he could catch her after all, bind his songbird more closely to him. How would he ever find her again here, where she knew her way around best?

The sudden further cry coming from a little deeper in the forest makes Coriolanus sit up and take notice. His weapon sinking more and more in his arms, his further steps forward were exceptionally slow. Barely moving from the spot, he listened further out. Should he follow?

He is still standing in the forest, the birdsong has almost died away, but it is still unreal. Did he shoot her with the gun? Is she...gone? He doesn't know.
