11.10.2025 23:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Charlie, did you see where he was? So amazing up there.

I came to say this but my version was not as rude, or nearly as funny. :) Nice.
11.10.2025 23:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow!
11.10.2025 23:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow. This is heroic stuff!
<s> I can't imagine the bad decisions our governments might be tempted to make if we didn't have data about how people use shared resources like street space.

Who among us has not ...
11.10.2025 20:54 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd still join the resistance though. :)
10.10.2025 19:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To be fair, this would make more sense than every false pretense offered by the 3rd rate mobsters in charge.
10.10.2025 19:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For the USA I like "No Kings" but you have to admit that some of the strongest and most open democracies are also constitutional monarchies. Much admiration for the way the Dutch and the Swedish have made it work.
10.10.2025 16:55 β π 20 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Does it take the joy out of it if we automate the process? Really loud noise, wait random period of time almost long enough to get to sleep, really loud noise. Let's not pretend we don't know this is a torture technique. It certainly is. The point is, they did it to a whole innocent neighbourhood.
10.10.2025 02:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But Anakin, you have to admit I DID have the high ground.
10.10.2025 00:43 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0They don't take away voting from *everyone* of course. :) Only certain people. Actually, it would be easier to identify the people who will retain voting rights.

Y'all on this thread seem to think that citizens in Russia, Hungary, and Belarus do not vote. Of course they do! The problem is that there are a million ways to make sure that certain people do not vote, that certain people do not run as candidates, that certain people's votes are lost.
09.10.2025 19:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I guess we will find out today if it was pressure from the government, because if it works once, they 100% do it again.
09.10.2025 19:38 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, that's also possible, but extremely disturbing since no one has charged him with anything. Is he on a terrorist no-fly list? No, they don't cancel your tickets if you are on the no-fly list, they just don't let you board. Perhaps we will find out today. Good luck and clear skies, Professor.
09.10.2025 16:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I came to make sure someone said this. You can't hear the breeze blowing or any other incidental noise. At the very least I think there are multiple microphones inside the drum kit to make the equalization possible. On the other hand, it does rock!
09.10.2025 16:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The way you phrase it makes it sound like a guy standing in an office and refusing to leave can cause a [former] democracy to fall into civil war. :)
09.10.2025 15:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A new pipeline paired with carbon capture may sound promising, but the numbers tell a different story.
Our analysis finds the so-called βgrand bargainβ would result in oilsands emissions going up, even with the Pathways carbon capture project.
Weird to set up single-use password authentication with your airline but such are the times we live in.
09.10.2025 15:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"So, um, this is an important flight and I don't expect I will need to cancel it. But if you *did* get a call asking to cancel these tickets, how would you know the call was from me?"
09.10.2025 15:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm concerned that maybe someone phoned the customer service desk of the airline, claimed to be him, and cancelled the tickets. I don't think I've ever cancelled a flight (for myself or someone else), but I've seen lots of examples of this sort of social engineering.
09.10.2025 15:10 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes! This couldn't have been easy for Finland because in this same timeframe they were moving heating energy from fossil fuels to electric (heat pumps) which makes this a double win. The work has to continue globally, because transportation, cargo, and other industries need electrification too!
09.10.2025 15:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I agree that a fight is not what anyone wants here.
08.10.2025 02:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It does seem like it would be good. But have we considered what is required for someone to prove they are over 15? No more online anonymity. No youthful protest organizers. It's a gigantic gift to police and police states. :(
08.10.2025 02:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The model here is Russia after they elected Vladimir Putin. Once you've elected a gangster, you can't expect he'll just try to beat you in a fair campaign. He's using every available mechanism and every federal agency to move the mid-term elections his way. If he loses, you won't hear it from him.
08.10.2025 02:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think those are bike cops in the Toronto Police Service.
08.10.2025 02:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a little bit like the way killing someone with a weapon results in all kinds of investigation, a trial, and punishment, unless the tool happens to be an automobile. Apparently foreign-funded insurrections that attempt to depose the government are terrible, unless they come in big trucks!
08.10.2025 01:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's amazing that you can organize something this big, with effects this bad, and still only be sent to sit at your desk for a year. :)
08.10.2025 01:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Americans are weird but please send a City Hall to Canada. Just keep them coming, we'll probably need quite a few. :) Kiitos.
