This was the thing that stood out when reading about the Blackhawks covering up sexual assault. No one wanted to rock the boat, with them thinking that talking about the sexual assault was the boatrocking, not the assault itself. It's so bad.

Re: Trump telling the men’s team that he’s going to “have to” also invite the women’s team, and the men laughing—one of the most toxic aspects of hockey culture is that it is unfailingly “polite.” They are raised to listen to their elders, not to push back even when they know something is wrong

big shoutout though to the one guy on the US hockey team who starts chanting 2-FOR-2! 2-FOR-2! when Trump brings up the women's team while pretty much everybody else laughs, he gets a pass

in public, the men's hockey team has been supportive of the women's team, going to games, cheering them on, saying they were inspired by the OT golden goal
must be gutting to feel that support and then get first-hand evidence that behind closed doors, when it's just The Boys, they're laughing at you
