Shiny Happy People on Netflix image
Wow! Watching the second episode of the second season of Shiny Happy People... hard to know what to even say. So many traumatized people in the name of religion. #ShinyHappyPeople

Yeah, I didn't wear except for reading until about 5 years ago and now I have to wear progressives as my eyesight continues to get worse with age! My kids inherited their eyesight from their dad though, so they've all three worn glasses since they were relatively young.

Yes, yes, it sure is!
My son and I both needed glasses last week and all 4 of us in our house wear glasses, so I totally get it! It's always something, isn't it?!

Ugh! Totally relate! Just had to have mine replaced after my eye exam last week and ever so grateful for double insurance as the progressives are not cheap!!! Best of luck finding somewhere that isn't too expensive!

And there are kids and adults who are still reading and some of us a lot. Kids need books even if not as many of them are reading and teacher librarians and librarians continue to work to put them in the hands of kids!!

30 Books in 3 Months Graphic that shows what I've read since May 26th as part of a Jessica Brody reading challenge
It's taken me longer to fill one graphic for this #30Booksin3MonthsSummerReadingChallenge this year than it has other years and that's perfectly OK! June was slow with the end of the school year - top row of the graphic. Have enjoyed all kinds of books! #amreading @jessicabrodyauthor.bsky.social

Graphic with a review of the book Spark by Chris Baron (a a picture of the cover) that I finished last night and loved. Review says "This is a moving middle grade book that is unfortunately timely being partly about wildfires and the environment, but itโs also about hope, regrowth, family, friends, community and being there for people in need in a multitude of ways. Written in beautiful verse giving the space for all the emotion in this one! Chris Baron is an auto buy for me!"
Can't wait to share this one in the fall with students as I know some who will already love this one and anyone who loves verse sure will! A timely topic and incredibly loveable characters you'll feel for! Be sure to pick this one up! #amreading #summerreading @baronchrisbaron.bsky.social

I'm loving Spark... powerful and so important and time sensitive for sure. Love the verse.
I haven't read The Riveters yet, but it's on my list! I actually taught with the author's brother years ago! Small world! Thanks for the reminder to pick this one up!

Yeah, I really like the format, but being Canadian, most of them are based on US history and I find them interesting, but not kids as much. Wish we had the same for Canadian historical events!

June was so busy with the end of school that it was a little slower reading wise, but some fabulous books and I realized half of what I read was actually #nonfiction! And no #miglit either shockingly! #sd36tl #teacherlibrarian #amreading
