Of course, this is slightly different because it's a translation, and it may very well be that the second version is more accurate to the original Japanese. But it just doesn't *feel* correct to me personally.

It isn't very different, but it's enough to bother me. I think it's in part because it's so iconic. It's like if you found a copy of Hamlet where he says, "I believe my mother protests just a bit too much." The meaning is essentially unchanged from the original, but it's not the phrase we all know.

Also I don't know how widespread this is but I definitely like NieR's original translation to the one in the v1.1etc rerelease

Though part of that is that there's a few lines that have opposite meanings from one version to the other and I don't know which is actually correct

People definitely feel this way about Chrono Trigger, at least parts of it. The DS translation reads better for the most part, but them changing the game over screen from "...But The Future Refused To Change" REALLY bugged me. I can't even remember what they changed it to, just that it annoyed me!

DS2 gets a bad rap IMHO

It definitely has its problems but it's still a great game

Also, humorously (to me) the quest you have to do to unlock Silksong's final boss is extremely similar to something you do to fight an endgame boss in DS2

Also if you don't already have it, there's a blue tool that temporarily stops the maggots from attaching to you that can help somewhat in this fight

I believe I killed him mostly by using poisoned tools

I do agree that far too many boss fights in the game summon adds, some of them infinitely, and it can be quite frustrating

He's not a required boss fight though so if you're really stuck I'd just go elsewhere

Shooting a ghost will NEVER kill it the first time even at max power and they usually respond by sprinting toward you

Sometimes you can instantly break their grasp without damage and other times they'll take off half your HP

I thought maybe mashing a button got them off but it seems to be random

I think that's in part because the game kinda feels like it's cheating
