Which street needs this next in Exeter?
A few years ago over 2000 angry people signed a petition against Church Street bus gate.
They said nobody agreed, it would hurt small businesses & destroy the high street. www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/2110921...
Watch how it turned out here:

Out in Finsbury Park today with our neighbours @islington-council.bsky.social @rowchampion.bsky.social and Haringey Council’s Cllr Ibrahim Ali and @londoncycling.bsky.social looking at how to work with Transport for London to extend Cycleway C50 so we can ride safely through all of our boroughs.
In an area where 75% of households don’t drive, having a car-dominated high street harms local shops. See plans for Hoxton LTN, & how it could be improved, here:

This has excellent lists of what changes can be done to make main roads in cities much better.
Do check this site out for a guide to addressing motor traffic problems in urban areas. Of interest specifically to Londoners, but it applies elsewhere in the UK www.lowtraffichackney.org/hackneys-mai...
We don’t just want more and better LTNs, we want Hackney main roads to change. 10% of Hackney residents live on main roads, and we want those people to feel the benefit too.
Here’s how main roads should be changed in Hackney:

TL;DR is that the local community says "Yes please".
The scheme involves a bus gate on Hoxton St and traffic filters on Stanway/Fanshaw Streets, & a new School Street.
