Can you spot the connection between these four movies for Week 46's theme?
The Tomorrow Man (1996)
Director: Bill Delia
With: Julian Sands, Giancarlo Esposito
A television movie made as a pilot for a series that was never made. The 2 leads give very good performances. #FilmSky
The grown up Losers club stand in the forest looking at something off screen. From the film 'It chapter 2'
'It Chapter Two' (2019) Enjoyed this a lot more this time around. Cosmic horror and some great set pieces.
Fun times.
Bill Hader's underrated.
The Losers club stare up at something out of shot, except for bill who looks forward. From the film 'It' (2017)
'It' (2017) I was too harsh on first viewing. This is fine and even if all I can hear is Winnie the Pooh, Bill SkarsgΓ₯rd makes for a super spooky Pennywise.
My affection for the mini series may well have blinkered me to the good gore and great acting at play.
The character V, in his guy fawkes mask and black attire, looks at a character who is at the front of the camera but largely out of shot. From the film, V for Vendetta
'V for Vendetta' (2005) This is one of my repeat comfort watches and one day, I hope I can watch this and it not be increasingly relevant
10.11.2025 09:35 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Victor Frankenstein saws a leg, mid shin, wearing red leather gloves and a grimace. From the 2025 film.
'Frankenstein' (2025) I enjoyed all of the squishy practical effects and the costume design.
I disliked the cast and their extremely distracting accents.
Felt like it really didn't bring anything new to the story, and I'm sad that I didn't enjoy it because I genuinely really like GDT and his work.
Maya the bee gives a thumbs up
'Maya the Bee: The Honey Games' (2018) was good solid bee fun yet again.
Lots of reviews are like 'Honey games? more like Hunger games!' and my dear sweet idiots, let me explain wordplay to you.
The titular character from the film 'Frida' (2002)stares almost directly at the camera, resting her chin on her hand. An out of focus facial profile is in the front of shot
'Frida' (2002) Speaking of messy bi femmes... this film should have been in Spanish, and so many other things...
It's a gorgeous film, Salma Hayek is spectacular, and the visual language of her art integrated throughout is a delight.
RIP Frida Kahlo. You'd have loved Good Luck, Babe!
The titular character from the film 'Hedda' (2025) stares at someone off screen with her lips parted and her hand gently to her chest. She is at a party and the crowd behind her are out of focus
'Hedda' (2025)
Scrumptious looking, beautifully reimagined, thick with meaning and context.
I enormously enjoyed this.
Tessa Thompson is the alpha and the omega of a messy bi femme.
