I think there's four basic things you need to do to keep yourself functioning: exercise, sleep, eat, and socialize

In average jobs you can kinda neglect two of those and still basically function for a while

In creative jobs you cannot. Neglecting any of those for too much time leads to burnout

Sometimes I think about how romances written during the Regency era don't have any queer or trans people in them, but we know they existed, and we know they loved.

I hate that the phrase “cost of living” exists.

It's right up there with "Human Resources," meaning ways companies can treat people as disposable materiel (as opposed to the original meaning of resources for workers).
