Boxes and boxes of X-Men and X-adjacent comics. Collecting since 1986, chasing all the X-books - getting close to the finish line. Favs are both Wolverines, Storm, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde. Also weird 80’s indie comics. Also cooking/recipe shares.

Photo of a two-page splash page on the title page of the comic X-Men #18 (1992). Shows Omega Red, taking up pretty much the whole two pages, angry and bursting towards the reader saying: “Nyet! I am Omega Red! And I will not turn my memories over to a psychic vampire such as you!”
Related: check out this double-page vertical splash title page with an “I am Omega Red!” In (adjectiveless) X-Men #18 (1992), by Andy Kubert!
That detail is incredible. Quickly becomes one of my fav splash pages ever.

It’s such a cool hologram. In my current read through I’m (this moment) opening X-Men #18 so I’m almost there. Been along time, and yeah remember how shocking it was. Just brutal.
01.11.2025 21:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This looks fun! Here’s my #Magneto choice, just randomly looking through the camera roll.
It’s the Gold variant B cover to X-Men #25 (1993), when Magneto rips out Logan’s adamantium. Didn’t know this variant existed until maybe 5 yrs ago, had to get one.

Looks great! And doesn’t matter how many times I cook+eat gumbo, whenever I see a gumbo post I’m like man I really need to make gumbo again.

Hey, happy birthday Ben! Yep they come fast, so here are some kinda predictable (from me) but cool #45 comics in my collection.

Just for fun, mine were the purple and black ones on the left.
Of course I removed the brake at the back, cause you can’t skate down stairs with it on. Not jumped, bent the knees for shock absorbing, and just went down. It would kill me now. For sure.
I hear you. Finished the Claremont Run (took me forever), then a palate cleanser of full Alpha Flight Vol 1, impulsively decided on this.
491 issues is a lot, especially since I always have a fiction and non-fiction book from the library. So I need all the good luck you can spare!
Btw, issue with Jubilee rollerblading (and teaching Professor X how to blade - promise!) came out in 1992.
I was an early adopter, and her blades look like my Rollerblade Aeroblades. In 1992 I was likely on campus, blading, listening to MTV’s 120 minutes CD on my Sony Discman (no skipping!)
Photo of a panel in Uncanny X-Men #293 (1992), shows Archangel (AKA Angel, née Warren Worthington III) angry and shouting “Don’t patronize me!”
Photo of a panel in (adjectiveless) X-Men #15 (1992), shows a close up of Logan Wolverine’s face saying “I think I was wrong.”
Photo of a panel in Uncanny X-Men #297 (1992), shows Jubilee holding up her Rollerblades and saying “… you ain’t lived until you’ve bladed.”
Photo of a panel in (adjectiveless) X-Men #17 (1992), shows Cyclops saying “Hmmm - what?”
Back at the UXM + XM single issue read through, now that I’m caught up on the pull list and other stuff.
Been taking pics of absolutely random panels, and when I have enough you get to see them! Are these memes?

31.10.2025 21:26 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Fwiw here are the other Marvel (Atlas) books I’ve tracked down that specifically label someone a Mutant pre X-Men #1:
Man Comics #28 (1953)
Journey Into Mystery #40 (1956)
Yellow Claw #2 (1956)
Tales of Suspense #6 (1959)
Tales of Suspense #32 (1962)
Photo of the cover for Amazing Detective Cases #11 (1952). Shows a man in bed, scared by a shadowy ghostly black figure coming in through the window
Photo of an interior panel in the comic Amazing Detective Cases #11 (1952). Shows a man and woman talking, she says “Yes, you fool I’m a mutant! I’m a superhuman being with powers that your puny mind will never grasp! I’m looking for a mate… a being like myself.”
Another sweet book, nice! #TopShelfFriday for me is Amazing Detective Cases #11 (1952), officially the oldest comic in my collection.
Picked it for the scary cover, got it b/c they mention mutants by name and it’s before X-Men #1. Fun stuff!
Wow what a cool book to have in the collection!
31.10.2025 21:02 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Photo of a tv screen with a scene from the movie Children of the Corn (1984). Shows the character Isaac, hanging bound to a cross adorned with corn (fronds, leaves?) like a scarecrow. You can just see another older corn-cross in the background with a skeleton policeman on it.
Hey, this is neither the autumnal movie I thought it was, nor a kids movie! Almost can’t finish my pumpkin latte.
First rewatch since the 90’s for sure, maybe even the 80’s. While catching up on the comic pull stack.
That’s so cool. Whoever grabs Obnoxio deserves extra candy for great taste in comics!

Oh my gosh, do we have some banger stories coming when Uncanny X-Men returns.
Favorites we haven't seen in a LONG time.
Two of the BADDEST classic bad guys.
Trial by combat against another group of Marvel Freaks.
Plus, violence, revenge, romance, passion, and CLAWS.
Happy!
Photo of an old Halloween photo of a young kid dressed as Captain Marvel/Shazam - from around 1978 or 1979 best guess. Under the crinkly jumpsuit costume, with cape, is the very common sports jacket with patches on it. No mask with that costume unfortunately.
Happy Halloween! Annual posting of my childhood Shazam costume. Sure I don’t need to post this every year, but young me said it’s ok.
Also I’m the only one in my house, I’ve had the trick-or-treat candy for weeks, and still haven’t opened it. Who has the Adult Merit Badges?
Oh wow I love this!
31.10.2025 04:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Thank you! It def has a creamier texture, risotto less toothsome (I think that’s the word I heard used?) than the version at the stove. Still tastes good to me.
