This piece is about the overlay of anxiety that has walked hand in hand with hope these last few years.

Some days it feels like the tension that i hold stretches beyond my form, pushing outward in wild, graceful arcs.

My body feels so small to hold such large emotions inside of it.

For me, this piece is about mental health as a hero's journey, in a sense, where the hero must journey into the other world/nether world to learn something profound about themselves, the world, and life and then return.

This is why early childhood education in the arts is SO important. It's much easier to develop this when the stakes are low and you'll be praised for your effort rather than the result. So that when you get to age 9-12 and start to care, you'll be juuuust good enough to push through and not stop.
