Got a tour of the Emirates and Arsenal Museum today, caught this reference to Glentoran. Hadn't realised that Arsenal travelled to play the Glens in September of 1969! The night before the match there were attacks on the RUC and churches burnt out!

whenever i'm up all night writing with the cat i think of Pangur Ban - the cat of an Irish monk who lived in Reichenau Abbey in the 9th century, and the poem the monk wrote about him.

That's a fair point, I didn't think of it!

Mountpottinger School, *I believe* the oldest purpose built public education building in East Belfast. Designed by Samuel Close and built in 1896.

No snow, just rainy in Belfast but the cat buried himself in the doona.

Totally acceptable to stay up until 03:30 to watch the Australia v India test when the cat's asleep on you, right?

A 2025 resolution is to explore BlueSky more. Another is to properly attempt to get into writing up all the bits of Belfast and Irish (and let's face it Australian) history that didn't make their way into work or research already!
